On April 30, the Board sent out letters concerning the Alabama Immigration Law.  The amended Law requires that in order to issue or renew a license, each applicant or licensed nurse is required to submit proof of citizenship or legal presence at least once. If you are a U.S. citizen (click here for citizen application), you only have to submit proof one time. If you are not a U.S. citizen (click here for non-citizen application), you have to submit proof of legal presence at the time of initial license application and renewal. If you have a permanent resident card, you only have to submit proof one time.
