Alabama Board of Nursing – Service Disruption Notice
September 1, 2026
The Alabama Board of Nursing is currently experiencing a disruption to certain technology systems related to a cybersecurity event.
Upon identifying the issue, the Board took precautionary measures to protect its systems and information, including temporarily taking certain systems and services offline while the matter is assessed. As a result, some Board services may be temporarily unavailable or delayed.
The Alabama Board of Nursing is working with cybersecurity professionals and appropriate state resources to investigate the event and safely restore services. The investigation is active and ongoing.
At this time, we are not able to provide additional information regarding the nature or scope of the event. Providing accurate information is important, and we do not want to speculate while the investigation remains underway.
We recognize the inconvenience this disruption may cause to nurses, applicants, healthcare organizations, and others who rely on Board services. We appreciate your patience as we work to safely restore operations.
The Alabama Board of Nursing will provide an additional public update within three business days, or sooner if circumstances warrant.
