Important Notice to Alabama Board of Nursing Providers (ABNPs)

As we continue working to restore Board services, the ABN currently is unable to accommodate uploads of continuing education (CE) data. Accordingly, the Board has adopted an emergency rule (expiring January 21, 2027) temporarily waiving the requirement that licensees document CE prior to renewing their nursing licenses. During this service interruption, Board-approved Providers (ABNPs) should continue maintaining accurate CE attendance rosters until the system is restored. You may issue CE completion certificates directly to nurses as documentation of course completion.

We continue to accept ABNP applications for initial approval, renewal, and retirement by mail.
