Attention Applicants Awaiting NCLEX Results
The ABN is able to access your test results as they are reported. Beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2026, we will post a running list of successful applicants to our website, indicating that each individual listed is legally authorized to practice as a nurse in Alabama.
Unfortunately, we may not be able to issue your Alabama nursing license number until our services are fully restored. In the interim, you may be identified and your licensure may be validated using the unique identifier assigned to you by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
Effective immediately, Board staff will begin mailing NCLEX Candidate Reports to each applicant as the reports are received.
Attention Employers:
As you may know, license verification services provided by the ABN are currently unavailable. Pending restoration of services, please verify licensure through the NURSYS national nurse licensure database.

NCLEX Results and Issued Alabama License
The individuals listed below are legally authorized to practice in the State of Alabama based on one of the following:
Successful completion of the NCLEX licensure examination and issuance of an Alabama nursing license;
Licensure by endorsement.
Conversion from an Alabama Single State License (SSL) to a Multistate License (MSL); or
Issuance of an Alabama Board of Nursing permit for a Nursing Support Technician (NST), Medication Assistant, Certified (MAC), or Nurse Apprentice.
The licensure or permit status listed below serves as verification of the individual’s current authorization to practice in Alabama within the scope of the license or permit issued.
