Monitoring supports the mission of the Board by enforcing nursing practice standards through the monitoring of nurses subject to a VDAP Agreement or Board Order.

Reports may only be submitted during the month in which they are due. After the last day of the month, reports are not accepted in any format.

ATTENTION PROBATION AND VDAP PARTICIPANTS:

Due to a cybersecurity incident, Probation and VDAP participants are currently unable to access the monitoring applications within our system. We are working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible, and have alternative plans in place in the interim. Please read the following information carefully, as it is vital to your continued compliance with your order or agreement:

Drug Screening:

The Board’s program of random drug screening remains in effect. All Probation and VDAP participants who are subject to drug screening should continue to check in with Affinity and complete screens when selected.

Monthly Self-Reports:

Participants will not be required to complete self-reports due on September 5, 2026; however, any information that would have been included on the September report should be included on the self-report that you are required to submit on October 5, 2026.

Quarterly Employer and Counselor Reports:

Our website will be updated with additional information regarding these reports prior to their October 2026 due dates.

Communication Points of Contact:

The best form of communication with our monitoring department is email. Board staff will respond to your emails as quickly as possible.

VDAP participants may reach VDAP Director Shaye Robinson at Shaye.Robinson@abn.alabama.gov.

Probation participants may reach Probation Director Rachel Brazell at Rachel.Brazell@abn.alabama.gov.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore access to the ABN system.
